Enclosure in Kilcooney

Enclosure marked on 1st. and 2nd ed. OS 6-inch map but not on 1913. Not visible at ground level. Archaeological testing under licence no. 04E0009 was carried out as part of the planning schedule for a single-house development adjacent to a barrow, a togher and an enclosure at Urney, Geashill, Co. Offaly. A series of trenches were excavated by mechanical digger at the house site, entrance and percolation area.
