What is recorded here

On flat ground in terrain gently undulating to E. W end of long rectangular field is occupied by earthworks. These earthworks bear some resemblence to those indicated on the 2nd (1906) ed. OS 6-inch map. At least nine separate enclosures were identified (TS077-015003-, TS077-015004-, TS077-015005-, TS077-015006-, TS077-015007-, TS077-015008-, TS077-015009-, TS077-015010-, TS077-015011-). Enclosure immediately E of platform (TS077-015005-). Defined on W side by scarp of enclosure (TS077-015004-). Gap of 1.6m. Bank on S and W side. S bank (Wth 1.9m crest, 3.1m base; int. H 0.21m; ext .H 0.38m) is 11m long. W bank at least 6.5m long, N end obscured by scrub. Some stone protrudes from surface of W bank which is well defined, as is S bank. Traces of ext. fosse (Wth 1.1m; D 0.17m) on S side. Enclosure (TS077-015007-) is immediately to W. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
