Enclosure in Garryhundon

Enclosure

What is recorded here

In tillage. A sub-rectangular enclosure (dims. c. 34m N-S; c. 29m E-W at N widening to c. 37m at S) defined by a cropmark is visible on Google Earth (imagery date 14 July 2018), identified and reported by Simon Dowling. There appears to be an entrance in the middle of the N side, defined on either side by a fosse (L c. 11m). There is an outer fosse (c. 4-5m from inner fosse) which is clearest running eastward from the entrance and along the E side. The S side may have been truncated by a field boundary running E-W, visible as a cropmark. Also identified as a cropmark is a curvilinear enclosure (CW012-203---) immediately to the W.
