What is recorded here
In improved pasture, on a SSE-facing slope. This enclosure adjoins a ringfort (TS059-106001-) to the NW and consists of a large sub-rectangular area (dims. 56m NNW-SSE; 68m ENE-WSW) defined by low scarp (Wth 1.15m; H 0.1m) SW-NW-NNW, by levelled bank (Wth 10.65m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.1m) NNW-N and N-NE and levelled scarp resumes NE-SE. There are the remains of a possible fosse (Wth 3.25m; D 0.05m) SW-NW, N (Wth 3.65m; D 0.16m) and E-SE defined by dark discolouration of grass. There is an entrance (overall Wth 9.5m; basal Wth 4m) at the N. There are possible remains of an outer earthwork around the entrance which has been truncated by the field boundary (long-axis E-W) of modern house plots to the N. The interior has a gentle S-facing slope on the N side which continues to the centre where there is a steep break of slope, defining a basin area which slopes gradually down to the adjoining ringfort. A shallow, linear depression (long-axis E-W; Wth 14m; L c. 72m) defined by a levelled bank (overall Wth 5m; H 0.3m) to N and S, extends from NE of monument.
