On a low terrace overlooking the River Nore, immediately SE of the junction with the Dinin River. An aerial photograph (GB94.FP.02, 13 August 1994) shows a cropmark indicating a fosse or waterlogged depression of an incomplete circular enclosure (dims. c. 130m NW-SE; c. 70m NE-SW), with the River Nore running along the SE edge. This may be an old water course.
