Enclosure in Dungarvan (gowran By., Bennettsbridge Ed)

An irregular oval enclosure (dims. c. 44m NE-SW; c. 38m NW-SE) defined by a cropmark is visible on satellite imagery (© Google Earth, imagery date 14 July 2018; © 2020 Here, DigitalGlobe, 2014 Microsoft Corp), identified and reported by Jean-Charles Caillère, Simon Dowling and Edward O'Riordan. There is an irregular outer enclosure, the gap between the inner and outer fosse varies from c. 5-20m, the narrowest gap being in the SE quadrant. The NW outer fosse is not clear but may be truncated by a field boundary running NE-SW along the W portion of the monument.
