Enclosure in Dromgower

This site is marked on the 1842 OS map as a semi-circular bank, which survives from the NW through W to SSE. It would appear to have been cut by a fieldbank running in a NW-SE direction. This can also be seen on the 1916 map, but a track now runs slightly through the NW sector. Traces of the remains of this enclosure can be seen today. The semi-circular bank is on average 7m wide and up to 1m high. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
