Enclosure in Derrycreeveen

In rough pasture, on a bog-covered terrace on the S-facing hillslopes of Bere Island. A circular area (7.3m N-S; c. 7m E-W) is defined by contiguously set stone slabs (T 0.2m; H 1.05m) NNW-S. At E, two slabs lean inwards and along the N arc three slabs lean outwards. The three tallest slabs are along the SSE arc. At S-NNW there are intermittent traces of prostrate slabs embedded in the bog. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
