What is recorded here
On a generally low-lying, level area of ground, in very rough pasture. The monument is depicted on the 1840 edition of the OS 6-inch map as an oval enclosure and is not shown on later OS historic mapping. This is an oval area (23m NE-SW; c. 26m NW-SE) defined by a bank of earth and stone (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.25m; Wth at top 1.6m; overall Wth 5.3m). The enclosing elements are partially obscured by dense briars SE-S and there is light vegetation cover on the remainder of the bank, except S-SW. There is no obvious entrance gap. The interior is generally level and is obscured by scrub across the SE sector. Trees grow within the SE and N sectors and intermittently around the bank.
