What is recorded here

On a low rise of a very gentle ENE-facing slope, in improved pasture. A subcircular area (29m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a low earthen bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 0.9m; Wth at top 0.55m; overall Wth 4.15m) with thorn trees growing on top intermittently. The interior has a gentle ENE-facing slope and is generally clear. There is no obvious entrance, although there is a modern breach at N used by livestock. There is a naturally formed depression to the immediate E of the monument and consequently the exterior height of the bank (Wth 3.5m; H 1.9m) is higher at this point. A field wall (long-axis NNW-SSE) is located c. 2m to E. The following images have been uploaded: CL035-087----_01.jpg From S. General view of monument (2m rod either side). CL035-087----_02.jpg From NW. Cross-sectional view of bank at SW. CL035-087----_03.jpg From S. General view across interior of monument.
