Enclosure in Cloontreem

In rough peaty hill pasture, on a SW-facing slope overlooking Cloontreem valley and Berehaven Harbour. An irregularly shaped area (c. 100m N-S; c. 65m E-W) is defined by a collapsed drystone wall (max. T 1m; max. H 0.8m), the lower courses of which protrude above the surface of the bog. The mainly curvilinear wall consists of a variety of stones, some of which are set upright at right angles to the line of the wall. A small circular enclosure (CO115-058----) lies in the W half of this enclosure. A hut site (CO115-058001-) abuts the inner E wall of the enclosure and a second hut (CO115-058002-) lies c. 30m to the S of the first and within the interior of the enclosure.
