Enclosure in Ceann Eich

This circular enclosure, not marked on the OS maps, is located on the N bank of the Inny river estuary. It measures 25m N-S x 26m E-W internally, and is defined by an earthen enclosing bank which averages .6m high and .7m wide. There is no definite entrance through the bank, though a number of gaps occur. Two shallow, waterlogged fosses, 1m wide, run contiguous to the bank internally and externally. The poorly drained interior of the site is level and apparently featureless. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
