What is recorded here

This circular enclosure, not marked on the OS maps, is located in rough pasture and overlooks the estuary of the Inny river to S. It measures 15.6m N-S x 15m E-W in internal diameter, and is defined by a low flat-topped bank of earth and gravel construction. The bank measures .6m high and averages 1.1m wide. The original entrance to the site cannot be identified but wide gaps occur in the bank at E, S and SW. Faint traces of two fosses, averaging .9m wide, are evident on both sides of the bank, but these may be the result of trampling by cattle. The interior of the site is level and apparently featureless. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
