What is recorded here

In undulating pastureland and rock outcrop. Marked on the 3rd edition of the OS 6-inch map (1933) as line of hachures curving from N to SSE (C c. 30m). When inspected in 1969 it was described it as a substantial drystone enclosure with no proper inner or outer wall faces, suggesting the possibility that it might be a sheepfold (SMR file). When revisited in 1992 the area has been extensively cleared and no visible surface trace survived. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 29 May 2017
