What is recorded here
This small, ruined, circular enclosure, not marked on the OS maps, is located on the W side of the Gearhameen river midway between Lough Duff and Lough Reagh. Only one course of stones denotes the outline of the site, which measures 8.5m x 7.9m internally. A 2m wide entrance gap occurs at S.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 712. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
