What is recorded here
A circular enclosure (diam. c. 60m), which is heavily overgrown with trees and scrub. According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 435) 'Dreeling's castle [KK022-005001-] stood in James Hogan's land in Brittas, but only the large earthen rampart that enclosed it now marks the place where it stood'. This is the only 'earthen rampart' in the townland. Carrigan is the only source for a castle at this location.
