Castle, unclassified in Brittasdryland, County Kilkenny, Ireland. The Dreeling family owned Brittas-Dreeling until the 16th century, and a large earthen rampart still marks where their castle stood. The circular earthwork is heavily overgrown, hiding the exact shape of the chamber, courtyard or doorway that once occupied the centre.

According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 435) the townland of Brittasdryland derives from the name Brittas-Dreeling, which belonged to the Dreeling family till the 16th century. He states that, 'Dreeling's castle stood in James Hogan's land in Brittas, but only the large earthen rampart that enclosed it now marks the place where it stood' (ibid.). Carrigan is the only source for a castle at this location. The only 'earthen rampart' is in the E portion of townland, a circular enclosure (KK022-005002-) (diam. c. 60m), which is heavily overgrown with trees and scrub.
