What is recorded here
Situated at the base of a rocky outcrop overlooking a fast-flowing stream. Glennyreea Rver 30m to N which forms townland boundary with Cloheenafishoge. Listed as Boolakennedy 1 (Costello 2016, 89, 98; Costello 2016, 309-10; Costello 2020, 121) and described as a sub-rectangular enclosure (ext. dims. 11.15m x 5m; int. dims. 10.3m x 3.4m) aligned NE-SW. Its N end wall and W side wall are formed largely by in-situ boulders and bedrock, creating a barrier 1.4m in height. The E wall (0.9m high) is also built up against the slope but with some obvious rubble masonry to increase its height. The S end wall is lower (0.8m high) and slightly collapsed. There is no obvious entrance through any of the walls, while the interior of the enclosure is dryish with some scattered stones.
