What is recorded here

Situated on the NE-facing slope of a hill in rough pastureland. Not indicated on the 1st (1843) or 1904 ed. OS 6-inch maps but identified as a circular cropmark on an aerial photograph taken in 1973 (GSIAP, R117/8). Not visible at ground level. The landowner knew of no site or tradition of a site in this field. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
