What is recorded here

In pasture, on a gentle S-facing slope. Flat-topped, circular area (dims. 16m N-S; 18m E-W) defined by gentle scarp (Wth 4m; H 0.25m) best preserved to SE-NE. Remains of external fosse (Wth 14m at S and Wth 17m at N; D 0.05m at S and Wth 1m at N). Interior slopes down gently to S with prevalent slope and is incorporated into rest of field as pasture. Linear depression (long-axis c. N-S) to E and similar depression (long-axis c. E-W) to NW represent levelled field boundaries. Depicted on 1840 OS six-inch map as oval enclosure.
