The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Large oval platform (dims. 74m NE-SW, c. 33m NW-SE; H 1.2m) with external fosse. Traces of possible bank at SE on perimeter of platform. Fosse disturbed in many places (D at SE 0.9m).
A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.
