A bivallate circular-shaped hilltop enclosure is depicted standing on top of Ballyvolane [Ballyvoneen] Hill on Taylor's Map of Kildare, 1783. This enclosure is not depicted on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. The partial outline of a possible enclosure are visible in this area on Google Earth aerial imagery. An OS trig. station is marked at this location on the revised ed. OS 6-inch map.
