What is recorded here
According to O'Kelly (1969, 6) in relation to 'Ballyhendrican' townland, 'There is a small rath on the southern border'. There is no enclosure indicated on the 1st (1839) OS 6-inch map or the 1945-6 revision in this townland. It is possible that O'Kelly mistook a small circular quarry on the 1945-6 revision, indicated with hachures facing inward signifying a depression, and located in the W portion of the townland, near the S boundary, as an enclosure. The location of the 'rath' is unknown.
