Ballyduff holds a hilltop rath and possibly a second circular stone enclosure, though no one has marked the second anywhere visible. The townland is so small that a separate fenced circle seems unlikely, yet O'Kelly wrote it beside the rath as if the land kept two boundaries. Perhaps one wall belonged to people and the other to story, or perhaps the second enclosure has sunk back into the grass and waiting.

In relation to Ballyduff townland, O'Kelly (1969, 74) mentions, 'Ballyduff rath [KK029-008001--] is on the hill-top and there is a large circular enclosure with an outer stone fencing'. It is not clear whether O'Kelly is describing Ballyduff rath as being a large circular enclosure with stone walling, or if he is referring to another large enclosure in this townland. The later seems unlikely as Ballyduff is a relatively small townland and there is no other enclosure indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map or the 1900 revision, nor is an enclosure visible on satellite imagery. The location of this possible enclosure within the townland is unknown.
