Enclosure in Ballycolla — Report the wrong picture

Marked on the 1841 and 1906 editions of the OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure (max. diam. c. 30m). Differential growth indicates the outline of the enclosure at N and NE. No other surface remains survive. Described as a platform type enclosure (H 0.9m above surrounding ground level) (OPW file). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
