What is recorded here

The circular enclosure marked on the OS maps is now reduced to a roughly circular scatter of stones, c. 16.4m in diameter. There is no visible trace of the 'clochaun' shown at the E side of the enclosure. In the OSM the wall of the clochaun is decribed as standing 2 feet (.6m) high. The side lies on the W slopes of Ballysitteragh mountain about 125m NW of the Ballyheabought river. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
