In a former quarry, reinstated as pasture, on a SW-facing slope. The enclosure is not visible at ground level. It is depicted on the 1904 edition OS 6-inch map as an oval enclosure (c. 40m NW-SE; c. 32m NE-SW) and appears on an aerial photograph (GSI R437/6, 16/04/1974) as a circular feature with a smaller circular anomaly to the ESE. According to local information, there was a fort in this field which may have been levelled out when the surrounding field boundaries were removed during 1960s.
