Dooneen is a place of anger and resistance. It is not a quiet place. It is not a forgotten place. It is a place that fought back.
A possible oval enclosure (c. 50m E-W; c. 35m N-S) visible on Digital Globe (2011-13) and on OSi orthophotographs (2013-2018). The townland boundary between Abbey East and Dooneen curves around the site. Reported to the National Monuments Service by Ros Ó Maolduin. A cluster of fulachtaí fia (CL003-028001- to CL003-028004-) lies between 30 and 85m to the S. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 15 December 2020
