Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

At the S edge of a broad hill. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 44.4m N-S; 42m E-W) defined by an earthen bank with some bushes (Wth 3-4.5m generally to 7m at E; int. H 0.6-0.9m; ext. H 1.5-1.7m) separated by a rounded fosse (Wth of top 5.4m at S to 8m at E; Wth of base 3-4m; D 0.5-0.8m) from an outer bank (Wth 2m; H 0.3m) which only survives WNW-N-E. There is a stone-lined entrance (Wth 1.7m), but no causeway, at SE, and a modern entrance through both banks at N (max. ext. diam. 63m E-W). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
