Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ratra, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a level, low-lying landscape as a circular grass-covered area defined by an earthen bank, fosse and outer bank. The outer bank joins a north-south field bank on the west and disappears toward the north, while an entrance and causeway remain visible in the eastern and inner structures.
On a level, low-lying landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 31.6m N-S; 30.6m E-W) defined by a an earthen bank (Wth 3.6-3.9m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 0.6m at E to 1.2m at N) separated by a fosse (Wth of base 1.3m at E to 3m at S; D 0.4-0.6m) from an outer bank (at S: Wth 2.7m; H 0.3m), which is incorporated into a N-S field bank W-WNW and removed WNW-N. There is an entrance (Wth 1.4m) in the inner bank and a causeway (Wth 3m) at E, but the outer bank is eroded here.
