What is recorded here

Just off the crest of the W-facing slope of a hill. Subcircular grass-covered mound (dims 27m N-S; 24.2m E-W; H 0.3-0.6m) defined by a fosse (Wth of top 5.4m at E to 10.5m at W; Wth of base 2.5-4.4m; D 1.45-1.75m) and a scrub-covered outer bank (Wth 4.5-6.4m; H 0.7-0.9m) which is incorporated into a field bank NE-SE and has been removed SSW-WNW. The W edge of the mound has also been cut back (max. ext. dim. 46m N-S). Pond barrow (RO035-077----) is c. 50m to the NE and embanked barrow (RO035-078----) is c. 60m to the E. Embanked enclosure, likely dating to the Late Bronze Age or Early Iron Age. Its significance lies in its rare and complex construction, reflecting territorial or ceremonial use in a poorly documented region.
