Marked as an irregular D-shaped embanked enclosure (ext. dims. c. 40m N-S; c. 40m E-W) incorporating field banks at E and S on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as an oval mound (dims. c. 30m N-S; c. 20m E-W) on the 1950-51 ed. Situated on a gentle E-facing slope. A length of bank (L 19m), overgrown and augmented by spoil (max. Wth 12m; max. int. H 4m; max. ext. H 3.5m), survives at W. Two large, shallow quarries (dims. 22m x 11m; D 0.5m: 24m x 14m; D 0.5m) lie to the W. Power (1952, 363) mistakenly classifies it as a motte. Power, Rev. P. (1952) The placenames of the Decies.
