Embanked enclosure

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Lackan (athlone North By., Lackan Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the top of Lackan Hill as a circular grass and scrub-covered area measuring thirty-seven point five metres northeast-southwest and thirty-five point six metres northwest-southeast. A grass-covered stone spread eight point three to nine point three metres wide defines the perimeter, though furze obscures the eastern section and outer facing-stones appear only at the southwest. A relict wall runs twelve metres from the south-southwest perimeter toward the centre before turning northwest for six point five metres, while another rath stands thirty metres to the west-southwest.
