Embanked enclosure

Marked as a rectangular embanked or moated enclosure on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as a rectangular enclosure with two moats (ext. dims. c. 70m NE-W; c. 70m NW-SE) on the 1924 ed. Located on a slight rise in a low-lying landscape. This is a square, grass-covered area (42m NW-SE; 42m NE-SW) defined by infilled moats (Wth 6.5-8m; D 0.2-0.4m), but there is no evidence of a second moat.
