What is recorded here
Marked as a Cillín only on the 1925 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 40m E-W; 35m N-S) defined by an overgrown stone field bank (Wth 2m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1m) which is truncated at SE by a NE-SW field bank. There is no evidence of a church or that the enclosure was used for burial (WA024-033002-), but this is very likely.
Compiled by: Michael Moore.
Date of upload: 9th August, 2010.
Embanked enclosure; date uncertain but likely medieval or later. Possibly a small ritual or territorial boundary feature, its significance remains locally ambiguous.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
