On a gentle N-facing slope. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 40.5m N-S; 34.7m E-W) defined by an overgrown earth and stone bank (Wth 3.3m at N to 4.8-5m generally; int. H 0.3-0.6m; ext. H 1.6-1.9m) separated by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 8.8-9.4m; Wth of base 3-3.4m; D 0.4m at E to 0.7m at S to 1.6m at W) NE-S-NW from an outer bank (Wth 2-3m; H 0.1m at S to 0.6m at W) NE-E and S-NW. There is a modernised entrance (Wth 2.1m) at NNE, the lowest point of the interior. Rath (RO035-009001-) is c. 130m to the S. Archaeological testing (09E0275) c. 100m to the NE failed to produce any related material (Carey 2012).
