Embanked enclosure

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Marked as D-shaped embanked enclosure (ext. dims. c. 45m E-W; c. 30m N-S) truncated by an E-W road boundary at N on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated on a sight N-facing slope and is visible on aerial photographs (MM (3) 26, 31-4) as a double ditched cropmark enclosure (max. ext. diam. c. 50m E-W) truncated by the roadway at N. It is not visible at ground level in a root crop. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
