Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Towards the bottom of the S-facing slope at the SE end of a NW-SE ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 40m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.6-5m; int. H 0.1-0.4m; ext. H 1.4-1.8m) separated by a rounded fosse (Wth of top 8.6m; Wth of base 3.7m; D 0.6-0.9m) from an outer bank (Wth c. 2m; H 0.2m). A triangular enclosure or annexe (RO034-081002-) (dims. 28m N-S; 21m E-W), attached to the W is defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.8-2.1m; H 0.3m) and is connected to the field system (RO034-081003-) around Oran Church (RO-034-080001-). Described as a motte (Knox 1911, 235) and as a ringwork (Graham 1988, 29-30). See the attached aerial images taken from the E (001) and NE (004).
