What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carricklom, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the crest of a slight west-facing slope as a circular grass-covered area measuring forty-two and a half metres north-south and forty metres east-west. An earthen bank five to six and a half metres wide surrounds the centre, while an outer ditch two and a half to three metres wide cuts the ground beside it. No entrance remains visible, and another rath stands sixty metres to the east.

At the crest of a slight W-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 42.5m N-S; 40m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5m at W to 6.8m at E; int. H 0.5-1.3m; ext. H 2m) and hedge WSW-N-SSE which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.8m) elsewhere, and an outer fosse (Wth of base 2.2-3m; D 0.3-0.55m) SW-N-SE. There is no visible entrance.
