Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Bredagh (athlone South By., Rockhill Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It appears as an oval embanked enclosure on the 1837 OS 6-inch map and a circular hachured feature on the 1915 edition, sitting towards the bottom of an east-facing slope. The grass-covered platform measures about 22.5m north-northeast to south-southwest and 21m west-northwest to east-southeast, defined by a slight 0.2m scarp. Rath RO045-112---- lies 200m north-northeast and rath RO045-148---- lies 80m east-southeast.
Marked as an oval embanked enclosure (ext. dims c. 25m E-W; c. 20m N-S) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as a circular hachured feature (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1915 ed., it is situated towards the bottom of an E-facing slope. This is a circular grass-covered platform (diam. c. 22.5m NNE-SSW; c. 21m WNW-ESE) defined by a slight scarp (H c. 0.2m). Rath (RO045-112----) is c. 200m to the NNE and rath (RO045-148----) is c. 80m to the ESE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
