Embanked enclosure

Marked as a ciruclar embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 55-60m) truncated by an E-W road at S on the 1840 and 1925 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a broad plateau. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 37m) defined by a broadly spread earthen bank (Wth 9m; H c. 0.2m) SW-NE, which is incorporated into a field bank NE-SE. There is no visible fosse or entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
