What is recorded here

Towards the bottom of a gentle N-facing slope with a W-E section of a SW-NE river c. 80m to the N. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 35m E-W; 30m N-S) defined by an overgrown flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 5-6m;Wth of top 3m; int. H 0.4-1.1m; ext. H 1.4m) and rounded fosse (Wth of top 4.4m; Wth of base 2.4-2.6m; D 0.6-0.7m), with the remains of an outer bank (Wth 2.2m; H 0.8m) NW-NE. Gannon (1972) records an entrance (Wth 2.2m) at S which is now widened (Wth 4m). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
