Embanked enclosure

Marked as a subcircular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35-40m) on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in pasture towards the bottom of a S-facing slope. A field bank that is slightly curving NNW-NE may respect the outline of an enclosure. Archaeological testing (04E1115) on the site (Kiely 2007a), and immeidatly to the S (04E1460) (Kiely 2007b), produced no related material. Kiely, J. (2007a) Ballycurrane North.
