Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballagh (athlone North By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a low-lying, level landscape 900m north of Lough Funshinagh, a large turlough. A circular grass-covered area 54.6m north-south and 52.7m east-west is defined by an earthen bank with bushes on the west and east, reduced to a scarp elsewhere. An outer fosse runs south-southeast, and a 3m-wide entrance with a 5m-wide causeway opens to the south.
On a low-lying, level landscape, c. 900m N of Lough Funshinagh, a large turlough. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 54.6m N-S; 52.7m E-W) defined by an earthen bank with bushes (at W: Wth 4.8m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.1m) S-NW and NE-E (at E: Wth 3.9m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.4m) which is reduced to a scarp elsewhere. There is an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.6-5m; Wth of base 1m; D 0.8-0.9m) S-SE, and the entrance (Wth 3m) and causeway (Wth 5m) are at S.
