What is recorded here
On a gentle NW-facing slope. D-shaped overgrown area (dims 26.8m N-S; c. 20m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (at N: Wth 7.6m; int. H 0.5-1m; ext. H 1m generally to 1.7m at N) which survives NNW-E-SSW, the perimeter being quarried back elsewhere. The rounded fosse (Wth of top 7.6m; Wth of base 2.4m; D 0.5m) survives NNW-N, but NNE-ENE it is re-cut and ESE-SE it is separated from the bank by a berm (Wth 4m). The monument was regarded locally as a children's burial ground (RO034-003003-), and uncremated bone (RO035-003002-) was recovered from it (Gannon 1972).
