What is recorded here
Elwill Bay features a stretch of sea cliffs and coastal rock formations primarily composed of Devonian slate and sandstone. These rocks, around 380 million years old, were formed through the compression of sedimentary material in an ancient marine environment and are notable for their resilience to coastal erosion, shaping the distinctive bay and headland geography of North Devon.
