Eglinton

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Eglinton as Steamship (period Unassigned)-(1902). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Eglinton* was a steamship built in 1902, later involved in World War I as a collier and minesweeper. It was sunk on 27 October 1917 by the German U-boat U-52 in the North Sea, resulting in the loss of all 35 crew members.
