Edinburgh Castle, Main Guard stands as a wall inside the castle rock, guarding the entrance where soldiers once watched for danger. The stone has no date recorded, but it still belongs to the city and reminds people that the castle was built for defence as much as display. Anyone may picture a guard standing beside it in the dark, listening for footsteps on the rock.
