Ecton Crag is a sea cliff or coastal rock feature composed of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340–320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. It is notable for its exposure of durable limestone strata, which may provide insights into the geological history of the Westmorland and Furness area.
