Ecclesiastical enclosure in Kiltrislane

Power (1932, 30) describes 'Ceall Bracain' as a subsidiary church of the Tuath Gleannomnach. Exact location not known. The Pipe Roll of Cloyne (MacCotter and Nicholls 1996, 27) gives a description for '_Kylbrackan, on the south side of the townland of Brygow[n]e_' from which description Power (1932, 73) identifies 'Ceall Bracain as the present Kiltrislane where, however, no memory of the exact cill site survives'. MacCotter and Nicholls (1996, 185) suggest that '_[Kylbrackan] covered a large area: possibly that covered by the modern parish of Kilphelan_' The possible early ecclesiastical enclosure at Kilphelan (13903) may also be a possible location for 'Ceall Bracain'.
